
Eric Ruffin
Eric Ruffin is a prolific director with recent regional credits including Shutter Sisters (1st Stage), Stirring the Water (Kennedy Center), Mountaintop and A Raisin in the Sun (Lyric Rep), Marys Seacole and Fabulation (Mosaic), and Black Nativity (Theater Alliance, 11 Helen Hayes nominations, 3 wins). Other highlights include Sarafina! (Kennedy Center/Mann Center), Topdog/Underdog (Luna Stage), and work at Crossroads, New Federal Theatre, Studio Theatre, and Imagination Stage. He’s directed extensively at Howard University’s Ira Aldridge Theatre and Rutgers Theatre Company.
Ruffin founded The Acting Studio and Newark Youth Ensemble and led NJPAC’s Young Writer Workshop, and has taught at Howard, Duke Ellington School of the Arts, and Rutgers. He holds a BFA in Theatre Arts from Howard University and an MFA in Directing from Rutgers University.
