Scot Reese
Scot Reese is a Professor Emeritus in Performance at the University of Maryland, College Park, specializing in Black theatre, directing, and musical theatre. An Emmy Award-winning actor, director, and educator, his career spans professional theatre, television, and higher education, with credits from Los Angeles to New York.
His work includes productions at the Kennedy Center, Arena Stage, Round House Theatre, African Continuum Theatre Company, LA Theatre Works, and more. He is also the founder of the Kreativity Diversity Troupe, created to provide the University of Maryland with a diverse voice expressed through performance.
Scot was inducted into the College of Fellows of the American Theatre in 2019 and received the University of Maryland's Distinguished Teacher-Scholar Award in 2023.
